Nick has been destined for racing his entire life. Blame it on the go-carts he toyed with when he was only four years old or maybe the dirt bikes he raced for most of his young adult life. One thing is certain: he has always had a passion for motor-sports.In addition to racing motocross at 18-years-old, Nick became interested in cars. When he stopped racing motocross, he bought his first car: a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette. Nick felt the need to challenge himself and began sliding his car sideways when accelerating from stop signs and sliding around in empty parking lots near his Tennessee home. After having the Corvette for a year, Nick discovered on the Internet that sliding your car around, or Drifting, was a legitimate sport. Shortly after a few mishaps in the Corvette, he decided to pick up a Nissan 240sx. The lighter, more agile 240 suited his needs much better than the bulky nose heavy Corvette. He proceeded to upgrade the suspension and installed a LSD differential to help the car drift. In 2007, Nick went to his first formal drifting event at the Memphis Motor-Sports Park in TN. Nick excelled at his first event, winning the competition, and continued to do well everywhere he went, constantly upgrading his car to make it handle better and make more power. In 2008 and 2009, Nick competed in the NOPI drift series, quickly moving up through the ranks from 64th to the top 10 before the collapse of the NOPI tour. For various reasons, he was not able to compete in the Formula Drift Pro series in 2009.In early 2010, Nick was introduced to Mike Zusin, the founder of Track One-a local shop just getting started. In mid-2010, Nick and Mike formulated a plan to get back into the drifting scene with a team and take it by storm after rebirthing the Nissan. They began to compete and did well with a second place finish at their first event at the Tennessee Drift Challenge. Unfortunately their luck didn't stick with them all year and in mid-June, tragedy struck in Georgia during a competition at Gresham motor-sports park where the sr20 overheated and had some internal issues, as well as a blown diff. Nick and Mike had to go back to the drawing board. After countless hours of research and many phone calls, a plan was developed to re-vamp the tired Nissan.In early July, the project began with plans to free up weight and add power. It only made sense to go to an aluminum V8, so parts were sourced and the new beast was in the making. Within three days of obtaining parts, they were done with only hours remaining to make it to the Import Alliance Summer Drift Demo. After a half day of drifting at the event the new motor gave way, throwing a rod bearing. Scrambling to source an engine, Nick sprung into action and once again found a motor just days before another drift demo-this time for Holley Performance. After two nights without sleep, the car was ready once again. Running for only about 30 minutes in the evening on an abandoned auto cross course, Nick caught the eye of the President and CEO of Holley Performance who was eager to invite him back the next day to showcase his skills and show the muscle car world what drifting was. After a day of smoke-filled, tire-burning fun, Nick had them hooked and onboard with Nick Thomas Racing and Track.One.After more R&D and networking, Nick has aligned for the 2011 season with Track.One, Carma-Performance, Holley Performance, JDM Speedworx, and Chase Bays. 2011 Has already been a great year and just keeps gaining momentum I can't wait to see where it takes me!! The people, The locations and sheer fun of the venues are great and the competition is just beginning so look out for more updates, pictures and video.

Import Alliance In early 2010 I aligned with Track.One and let me tell you its been a crazy ride!!!! We've been growing exponetially every event we attend, and the Import Alliance summer meet was definitely and stepping stone for me as a driver and all of us as a team. Being injured in a motor-cycle accident the week before IA right before deciding to do the LS swap in the 240. With tons of help and motivation from all the right people at the right time we were able to complete the task the day of the meet. So after 3 days of no sleep and madness this is what happened.

2007-2008 In late 2006 early 2007 I had found my niche it was drifting and in this album there are a few pictures from various events I attended around the country. Everything since these times have been ceazy and cant wait to see where it all takes me.

Holley Ls-fest was definitely one of the most pivotal parts of my racing career, I cant thank Holley Performance enough without them I wouldnt have gotten the coverage and exposure I have in the past year.
